حمایت بیگ اور دیگر نوجوانوں کیلئے میں نے نامی گرامی چینل کی صحافت سے دست برداری اختیار کی اور اس کے بعد اپنے احتجاج کی تشہیر کیلئے gulail.com نامی ویب سائٹ کا آغاز کیا۔ میں نے دہلی ، اتر پردیش اور مہاراشٹر میں پریس کانفرس اور سیمینار کے ذریعے گواہان اور شواہد کو پیش کیا ہے کہ کس طرح درجنوں بے گناہ مسلمانوں کو جھوٹے کیسوں میں پھنسا کر پابند سلاسل کر دیا گیا۔
اپنی اس رپورٹ کو جاری کرنے سے پہلے اور دیگر بیانات کو عوام کے سامنے لانے سے قبل ملک کی کئی ریاستوں کا بذات خود دورہ کرتے ہوئے میں نے ثبوت اکٹھا کئے تھے جس کے بعد ہی میں نے ممبئی اور الہ آباد کے ہائی کورٹ میں مقدمات داخل کئے ہیں۔
ماہ ستمبر میں میں نے ایک اسٹنگ آپریشن کیا تھا جس سے یہ بات سامنے آئی تھی کہ حمایت بیگ کے خلاف جو گواہ پیش کئے گئے ہیں وہ بوگس ہیں اور انکے بیانات دباؤ میں دئے گئے بیانات ہیں۔ سپریم کورٹ کے چند نامور وکلاء جو کہ بغیر کسی مفاد کے gulail.com کیلئے بے لوث تعاون کرتے رہتے ہیں، کے مشورے کے بعد میں نے یہ تمام ثبوت ممبئی ہائی کورٹ میں پیش کئے ہیں۔
ہم سب یہ سمجھتے ہیں یہ ہمارا فرض ہے کہ ہم عزت مآب عدالت کی ستائش کریں جس نے میری رپورٹ کو جانچ کے قابل سمجھا تاکہ صریح انصاف ہو سکے۔ میں نے جو راستہ اختیار کیا ہے وہ کافی خطرات پر مشتمل اور پیچیدہ ہے لیکن میں یہ سمجھتا ہوں کہ بے گناہ مسلم نوجوانوں ، اقلیتوں اور دیگر پسماندہ طبقات جن پر ظلم و زیادتیاں ہو رہی ہیں کے بغیر ہمارا ملک مستقبل میں ترقی نہیں کر سکتا۔
میں ان مسلم تنظیموں کے بیان پر اپنا سخت رد عمل اور افسوس ظاہر کرنا ضروری سمجھتا ہوں جنہو ں نے متذکرہ اسٹنگ آپریشن اور نیوز رپورٹ کے تعلق سے گمراہ کن بیانات پیش کیے ہیں۔

It is unfortunate that some sections of the Urdu Press recently carried news reports casting doubts about my interventions in Mirza Himayat Baig's case. These news reports were apparently based on a press statement issued by a Muslim organisation. I'm issuing this statement to set the record straight. I'd like to inform the press that in May this year I quit my job with a mainstream news channel and start Gulail.com to campaign for the innocence of Himayat baig and many other innocent Muslims wrongfully framed in terror cases across Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. I held press conferences and seminars in Delhi, Mumbai and Lucknow and presented the evidence of the innocence of dozens of Muslims languishing in jail before noted legal luminaries of the country. I also sent letter petitions to the Chief Justices of the Bombay and Allahabad High Court. Subsequently, I converted the letter petition sent to Bombay High Court into a formal PIL. In September my news portal carried out a sting operation and procured new material indicating that several key witnesses were compelled to give bogus testimonies against Himayat Baig. On the advice of some very illustrious and well-respected Supreme Court and High Court lawyers, who have been selflessly supporting Gulail's campaign for truth and justice, I filed a criminal intervention in Baig's death confirmation case bringing this new material to the court's knowledge. We all felt that as a responsible citizen it was my duty to apprise the court of the findings of my news report. This fight for securing justice for the marginalised sections of the society is a tortuous and perilous path. I have consciously chosen this road because I believe that the future of our nation is bound with the fate of the innocent Muslims, tribals and other marginalised citizens wrongfully framed in criminal cases. I've always been open to discussions and dialogue with all sections of the society including the security establishment. It is thus highly regrettable that a Muslim organisation chose to issue a misinformed and unilateral statement. I'd appeal to everyone to work together towards establishing a just and fair society. We have a huge challenge ahead of us and the only way we can succeed is by lending support and strength to each other.
